SpeedGuard Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy clarifies the nature, scope and purpose of the processing (including collection, processing, use and consent) of personal information contained in the mobile application “SpeedGuard” (hereinafter referred to as “app”). The privacy policy applies regardless of the domains, systems, platforms, and devices on which the app is being run. Provider of the app and responsible for the data protection law is Peregrine Technologies GmbH, Saarstraße 20a, 12161 Berlin (hereinafter referred to as “provider”, “we” or “us”). For the contact possibilities we refer to our imprint. The term “user” includes all customers of SpeedGuard. The terms used, such as “Users” are to be understood as gender-neutral.

We do not accept any liability for any injuries, damage or losses you may incur as a result of your use of the app.

Information We Process

  • User name and email: In order to use the app, you need to register to our service via e-mail and user name. You have the option to create an account with us or to sign-in via Google.
  • GPS Data: We access your device’s GPS data to provide location-based functionalities such as showing the current speed or location on a map within the app. This data is used solely for real-time processing and is neither stored on our servers nor transmitted elsewhere.
  • Camera: The application uses your device’s camera for detecting and classifying speed signs. The images and data captured are processed within the app and are not stored or transmitted.
  • May collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device’s unique device ID, your mobile operating system, and information about the way you use the app.

Third-Parties We Use

Google Firebase

We use Google Firebase services in our app. Firebase is a platform provided by Google LLC that helps us with various backend services. Specifically, we use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Authentication, and Firebase Crashlytics to improve our app’s performance, provide user access control, and understand user behavior.

Firebase Analytics

Firebase Analytics helps us understand how users interact with our application so we can make informed decisions about features and improvements.

Data Collected by Firebase Analytics

Firebase Authentication
