Webfleet, a Bridgestone company
Visual Intelligence in Webfleet Video, powered by Peregrine.ai
Webfleet, Bridgestone’s fleet management platform, offers Visual Intelligence as a paid upgrade to Webfleet Video. The perception software behind it comes from Peregrine.ai, a Berlin-based edge AI company. It detects hazards such as red-light violations, speeding, adverse weather and slippery roads, and it is added to vehicles already in service by over-the-air update.

What is Visual Intelligence in Webfleet Video?
Visual Intelligence adds scene understanding to Webfleet Video. A standard dashcam records an event. With Visual Intelligence, the system also recognises the driving context around it, such as a red light, a slippery road or a weight restriction, and turns it into real-time in-cabin alerts and fleet insights.
Webfleet and Peregrine.ai announced the solution in Amsterdam on 16 September 2025.
Which AI does Webfleet use for video telematics?
Webfleet Video’s Visual Intelligence upgrade runs on Peregrine Vision, the video telematics software from Peregrine.ai. Peregrine.ai was founded in Berlin in 2019 and builds perception software that runs directly on vehicle cameras.
Webfleet is Bridgestone’s fleet management solution and is used by more than 50,000 businesses worldwide, according to Webfleet.
What does Visual Intelligence detect?
- Speeding
- Red-light violations
- Adverse weather
- Slippery roads
- Size and weight restrictions
How does it reach vehicles already on the road?
Visual Intelligence is retrofitted to commercial vehicles by over-the-air update, regardless of make, model or age. Fleets add it to the vehicles they already run.
For telematics providers
What does this mean for other telematics providers?
Webfleet is one of several platforms running Peregrine.ai’s perception engine. Linqo, for example, runs Peregrine Vision on its dual-camera dashcams. Telematics providers can add the same capability to the camera hardware they already ship, through an SDK or API, and update devices in the field over the air.
What the partners say
“…detecting and contextualizing road events and risks as they happen.”
“We’re proud to contribute our contextual AI technology to this collaboration. By making existing vehicles smarter with real-time insights, we’re helping fleets operate more safely and efficiently, at scale, and on the road today.”
